About Kelowna City Park
The downtown shoreline features a long stretch of sand known as Hot Sands Beach. Wide grassy fields provide room for volleyball nets and picnic blankets. A paved multi-use pathway tracks the water's edge, routing cyclists and pedestrians toward the nearby marina and bridge.
Further inland at 1600 Abbott Street, Kelowna City Park contains a large concrete skatepark, tennis facilities, and a seasonal splash pad. Tall trees line the walkways, offering shade during hot July afternoons. The grounds also hold a lawn bowling club and a cenotaph honouring military veterans.
Gates open daily at 6:00 AM and close at 11:00 PM. The central layout makes it a frequent site for summer festivals and outdoor sports tournaments.
