Okanagan Rail Trail
The old rail line from downtown Kelowna toward Lake Country: mostly paved in the city, crushed gravel beyond.
About Okanagan Rail Trail
The Okanagan Rail Trail follows the old rail corridor from Ellis Street in downtown Kelowna north toward Lake Country and Coldstream, about 50 km in all. In Kelowna, the roughly 14 km from Ellis Street to Old Vernon Road is mostly paved. Outside the city the surface is compacted crushed gravel.
It is flat and wide, so it suits families, easy rides and e-bikes. In Lake Country the trail runs along Wood Lake and Kalamalka Lake.
Check the City of Kelowna's rail trail page before a long ride, in case a section is closed for work.
