About Big White Ski Resort
Winter weather systems moving across the region drop dry, light snow on this high-elevation mountain. Big White Ski Resort receives an average of 750 centimetres of this snow annually, creating consistent conditions for downhill skiing and snowboarding. The terrain covers over 2,700 acres, divided into runs that range from wide green groomers to steep black diamond glades.
The main village sits directly on the slopes, allowing guests to strap into their gear right outside their doors. This pedestrian-only zone features equipment rental shops, cafes, and restaurants serving warm meals after a day in the cold. Other winter activities include an outdoor skating rink, a tube park, and cross-country trails winding through heavily frosted trees.
Driving up the mountain takes about an hour from Kelowna city limits via Highway 33. The road is consistently plowed during the winter months, though proper winter tires are legally required for the journey.
