Julia's Junction - Inclusive Play Space

This community park on May Street addresses a common gap in municipal recreation by providing equipment that accommodates wheelchairs, mobility aids, and sensory needs. Unlike standard playgrounds with wood chips and steps, the design features flat, rubberized surfacing and ramps, allowing children to play side-by-side regardless of physical ability.

The site operates daily from early morning until late evening, offering families a reliable spot for outdoor activity. Local fundraising efforts drove the development of Julia's Junction, establishing a space where physical barriers are eliminated to encourage social interaction among all youth in the neighbourhood.
