Shannon Lake Regional Park

Just off Swite Road, a gravel path winds through mature ponderosa pines and circles a mid-sized body of water. Shannon Lake Regional Park provides a straightforward outdoor space. The main draw is the water itself, which the province stocks with rainbow trout. A floating structure extends from the shoreline, giving anglers a clear spot to cast without snagging branches.

Away from the water, the unpaved network offers a short, relatively flat walk under the tree canopy. Picnic tables sit near the parking area for a simple lunch outside. During the spring, the regional district often runs youth fishing programs here, bringing a steady stream of families to the water's edge.

Bird watchers frequently spot waterfowl and osprey along the reedy margins. The loop is brief enough for a quick morning dog walk, provided pets remain on a leash.
