Scenic Canyon Regional Park

The trail network at Scenic Canyon Regional Park follows the deep ravine carved by Mission Creek. Hikers walk through riparian zones thick with cottonwoods before climbing into drier uplands dominated by Ponderosa pines. The paths connect to the larger Mission Creek Greenway, providing long-distance walking routes across the region.

Along the way, the landscape shifts to reveal prominent geological features. Layer Cake Mountain displays distinct horizontal bands of volcanic rock across the valley. Further along the trail, hikers pass the Rock Ovens, small stone structures built into the hillside by Chinese labourers during the early twentieth century.

Access to the trailhead sits at the end of Hollywood Road South. The area remains open at all hours, allowing for early morning walks or late evening wildlife observation.
