Powers Creek trail
Hike along a flowing creek at this outdoor trail system accessed directly from Blue Jay Drive.
About Powers Creek trail
Access to the trail network begins near the end of Blue Jay Drive in West Kelowna. The dirt path descends into a steep-sided ravine, following the water flow for several kilometres through dense pine and Douglas fir stands. Hikers navigate a series of dirt tracks that crisscross the slopes above the water.
Powers Creek trail provides a heavily shaded route during the hot Okanagan summer months. The terrain varies from wide, flat sections to narrow, root-covered climbs along the ravine edge.
Spring runoff brings heavy water flow through the gorge, making the sound of the creek a constant background noise. Mountain bikers frequently ride the upper ridges, requiring pedestrians to share the narrow paths.
