Spion Kop Summit

Rising above Lake Country, this multi-use trail system offers a rigorous climb through dry pine forests and yellow arrowleaf balsamroot glades. Hikers can choose from several colour-coded routes, including the steeper Summit Trail or the more gradual loop options, to reach the basalt peak. The climb requires sturdy footwear due to loose gravel and uneven terrain.

At the top of Spion Kop Summit, the reward is an unobstructed vantage point overlooking Wood, Kalamalka, and Okanagan lakes. Located a short drive north of Kelowna, the park land remains open daily for self-guided foot travel. It is a favourite local spot for morning exercise, requiring no admission fees or formal check-in.
