02The Story

Old vineyards, lake views and long lunches

Lakeshore Road runs south from Kelowna through the Mission, past some of the valley's best-known estates.

The Lakeshore Wine Route is a short, easy drive of about 19 km on the east side of Okanagan Lake, through Kelowna's South Mission.

Its 5 wineries are Tantalus Vineyards, Hidden Vines Family Estate Winery, Summerhill Pyramid Winery, Martin's Lane Winery and CedarCreek Estate Winery. Several have restaurants and patios over the vineyards, which is why this trail is the one for a long lunch rather than a quick tasting.

The stops are close enough to do in a relaxed afternoon, and the route pairs well with the East Kelowna trail for a full day.

Reservations are recommended for tastings and dining in summer. A local driver such as Après Tours means nobody in the group has to skip the wine.
